Careers in Michigan

Are there any real sports marketing jobs in Michigan? I feel as though I have been deceived by every ad I have replied to or job I have applied for. Every post containing  the words "ATTENTION SPORTS FANS" or even "SPORTS MARKETING STUDENTS WANTED" is NOT a real job in the sports industry (Heads up!) I have been on two job interviews with companies that advertised in this manner, and have ended up as a door-to-door salesman. Not only was my own office out of the question, but we had to provide our own mode of transportation (WHO CAN AFFORD THAT MUCH GAS?!?) Even worse was the fact that what we were selling had nothing to do with anything in the sports industry. On one job, office supplies. On the second, salon coupons. The job was based almost solely on commission. I want to stay in Michigan so badly, to be with family and friends, and save up money for a real place to live. But how can I gain experience in the real-world if no one is willing to give me a real chance? I feel like I have nowhere to go, except hit the road and head for a big city...*

My name is Brittany...

Hi everyone. My name is Brittany Jenell Morris. I am 22 years old, and a graduate from the University of Michigan. I received my Bachelor's degree in Communications in December of 2010. I transferred to U of M from Michigan State, and I have love for both sides of the rivalry. I love sports & entertainment, and that's why I hope to find a career in it. I love learning about what attracts people and keeps their attention. I like knowing each step of their purchasing processes, and I love knowing how to influence their decisions.
